Today's #NeverForgottenFriday Commemoration
[Note: A fellow Flag Steward, and Army Veteran of Operation Urgent Fury, reminded me that today is the 36th anniversary of the start of the invasion of Grenada (Operation Urgent Fury), and there were 19 fallen combatants that we can't forget. So, on Monday, we'll recall this 5-day battle.]

There were no soldiers killed while serving in Global War on Terror (GWOT) combat zones last week. But, sadly, there were 7, yes seven, service members who died recently. Three US Army soldiers were killed in a Bradley Fighting Vehicle training accident on Sunday - [pictured top from L to R] CPL (Corporal) Thomas Walker of Ohio, PFC (Private First Class) Antonio Garcia of Arizona, SFC (Sergeant First Class) Bryan Jenkins of Florida.
Additionally, [pictured bottom from L to R] US Marine Marine Cpl. (Corporal) Erin Rachel Lilleyfogle, West Point Cadet Kade Kurita, US Army SSG (Staff Sergeant) Nicholas Scalzo, and Marine Pfc. (Private First Class) Christian Bautista all died while serving our country in noncombat incidents.

Unfortunately, ... there were 4 first responders who died in the line of duty recently. The 2 fallen peace officers were Deputy Jake Allmendinger of Gallatin County Sheriff's Office in Montana (vehicle accident) and Deputy Brian Ishmael of El Dorado County Sheriff's Office in California (shot & killed).
The 2 fallen firefighters were Equality Volunteer Firefighter Michael Johnston in Alabama (pictured left) and Homer Fire Department Firefighter Robert Bush in New York (pictured right).
Please, pray for all of these fallen patriots and their family and friends in mourning.
