About Us

Flag Steward is a nonpartisan, student-inspired, Veteran-led 501(c)(3) tax-deductible nonprofit organization based in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. It was incorporated as GivingVu.org, Inc. in 2013, and converted to Flag Steward in 2018.
Flag Steward's mission is to build better (more informed, inspired, respectful) student-citizens.
The foundation for creating Flag Steward came from my dad, pictured above. He was a career Army officer and Vietnam War hero, Silver Star and 48+ Air Medals, who always dreamed of having his own flagpole. Upon his unexpected death in 2008, a flagpole, dubbed "Poppy's Memorial Flagpole," was installed at Flag Steward's HQ (my home's backyard) - with a beautiful backdrop of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. My dad's patriotic spirit and dedication to public service influenced me to begin working with elementary students to improve their Pledge of Allegiance experience in 2015.
