[ Note: We recommend 3 student-speakers lead and read aloud the 3 parts of the pre-Pledge ceremony. And, assign 1 student to handle the ceremony tech - showing with a laptop or mobile device the ceremony on a screen. Select the 4 presenting students on Monday or Tuesday and have them practice the Pre-PLedge Tribute so on Friday they can give a good, clear, loud ceremony for their classmates ;) Do not read aloud any text with [ brackets ] around it. THIS WEEK'S REMINDER FROM OUR FLAG:
... the King versus our Founding Fathers ...
[ King George III of Great Britain - ruled from 1760 to 1820 ]
During this week in American History, on October 26, of 1775, to be exact, King George III of Great Britain declared the American colonies in rebellion and ordered his military to go there and stop a revolution.
And, then, exactly, a year later, on October 26, of 1776, a few months after declaring our independence, one of our Founding Fathers, Ben Franklin, set sail from America for France. He went to get French support for the American Revolution. Franklin stayed in France for the next 9 years - serving as America's ambassador to France. One of his most important accomplishments during that time was getting the British to agree to the Treaty of Paris in 1783 - officially ending the Revolutionary War with Great Britain.

When not in uniform men should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart.
