It's the start of the Memorial Day Weekend. On Memorial Day, there is unique flag etiquette to follow. Per Congressional / Public Law, Our Flag is flown at Half-Staff from Sunrise to 12pm / Noon (local time). Then, it is raised to Full Staff for the remainder of the day.
President Abraham Lincoln said this about the sacrifices made by our military service members - particularly those killed in action,
"Any nation that does not honor its heroes will not long endure."
