All Flags across KENTUCKY (KY: Sep. 23) Kentucky's Governor ordered, concurrent with the ongoing half-staff for former Governor Jones, all (US & State) Flags at government / public facilities across the state, to half-staff, sunrise to sunset, on Sat., Sep. 23, the date of his final interment, in honor of World War II KIA U.S. Army Pvt. J.C. Brooks of Rockfield, Kentucky, who was killed in action (KIA) Aug. 1, 1943 while leading an advance against German forces as first scout during the Battle of Troina.
