Each year, National Nurses Week begins with NATIONAL NURSES DAY on May 6 and ends on May 12; which is celebrates INTERNATIONAL Nurses Day and the birthday of Florence Nightgale - who was the founder of modern day nursing. By some form of omnipotence, the theme for this year's Nurses Week is "Nurses: a voice to lead - Nursing the World to Health." Wow, they somehow predicted that that's exactly what nurses would be doing - battling COVID-19 while taking care of coronavirus victims in the U.S. and worldwide. Obviously, this is a great time to take a moment to thank a nurse you know or post some words of encouragement for all nurses via #NationalNursesDay.
