Today's Moment to Remember
Vietnam War Veterans Day
Vietnam War Veterans Day
The last U.S. troops left Vietnam on March, 29 1973. The significance of this date has become reason to celebrate "Vietnam War Veterans Day" - as put into law by the Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017.
In recognition of today, we ask you to call all the Vietnam War Veterans you know and tell them "Welcome Home." Most of them never got the proper respect and gratitude they deserved when returning home in 1960s and 70s. So, show them some love and appreciation today and every other day you see / talk to them. And, if they're willing, ask them to tell a story about one or more of their war buddies. Most, like my Vietnam War Vet dad, don't like to talk about their personal war activities, but they are more comfortable sharing funny, interesting stories about their unit buddies.
[Note: The start date of the Vietnam War is subject to debate, but is officially recognized as the "Vietnam Conflict" by the DoD and dated from November 1, 1955 to April 30, 1975.]
