... The meaning behind "Pi" Day ...
This date each year, written by some as 3.14 (as in March 14th), is called "Pi" Day. The math symbol for "Pi" (shown right above and on the chalkboard behind Bill Nye in the GIF animation at the top of this page) is taken from the Greek alphabet and represents the ratio of any circle's circumference to its diameter. When put in a decimal form, Pi is approximately equal to 3.14. The value of Pi is approximate because the decimal never ends - it goes and on and on infinitely ( as the image just above shows ;)

All Flags atop State Capitol building in Sacramento, CALIFORNIA (CA: Mar. 13-15): CA Governor ordered all Flags atop the State Capitol to half-staff on Fri., Mar. 13 until sunset on Sun., Mar. 15, to honor US Army Specialist (SPC) Juan Miguel Mendez Covarrubias, 27, of Hanford, California, who was killed in action by indirect enemy fire in Iraq on Wed., Mar. 11.. All Flags across MICHIGAN (MI: on Mar. 14): MI's Governor ordered all (U.S. & State) Flags at all state facilities to half-staff, on Sat., Mar. 14, the date of his interment (burial), to honor the service of Michigan National Guard Sergeant Jeffrey A. All City Flags in Philadephia (PA: on Mar. 13 and TBD): Philadelphia's Mayor ordered "all city flags" (which does not include the US or State Flag) to half-staff for 30 days, starting immediately on Fri., Mar. 13 until sunset on Apr. 11, to honor Philadelphia SWAT Corporal James O’Connor, who was killed in a shooting Friday, March 13, 2020. All Commonwealth (State) Flags across PENNSYLVANIA (PA: Mar. 11 and 14): PA's Governor ordered all Commonwealth (State) Flags at all state facilities to half-staff, on Wed., Mar. 11 and again on Sat., Mar. 14, the date of his interment, to honor former Auditor General Donald A. All Flags across ARKANSAS (AR: on Mar. 11 - 16): Arkansas' Governor ordered all Flags at state facilities, to half-staff immediately on Wed., Mar. 11 until Mon., Mar. 16, the date of his interment, in tribute to the memory of Hot Springs Police Officer Brent William Scrimshire, who was shot and killed in the line of duty on Tue., Mar. 10. All Flags across NORTH CAROLINA (NC: until Mar. 15): NC's Governor ordered all Flags at state facilities immediately, at approximately 1600 EST on Tue., Mar. 10, to half-staff until sunset on Sun., Mar. 15, in honor of Camp Lejeune Marines Gunnery Sergeant Pongo and Captain Navas, who were killed in action during combat operations in Iraq on Sun., Mar. 8.
