Sadly, there was one military service member who died in the line of duty this past week. U.S. Naval Academy Midshipman First Class David Forney, who was an offensive lineman for the Navy Football team and planned to commission as a cryptologic warfare officer, died of an unknown cause on Feb. 20th.

Unfortunately, ... there was 1 first responder, a police officer, who died in the line of duty in the last week. The fallen police officer was Corporal Andrew Gillette of the Sumter County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina (shot and killed).
We honor and thank these patriots for serving and protecting their communities.
