All Flags across ILLINOIS (IL: until Jan. 25): Illinois' Governor ordered (via email out at 1047CST) all Flags at state and government facilities across IL immediately to half-staff until sunset on Sat., Jan. 25, the date of his interment, in memory of a courageous young hero, US Army PFC Miguel Villalon, who killed in action on Sat., Jan. 11, in Afghanistan. All Flags across ARIZONA (AZ: on Jan. 24): AZ's Governor ordered (emailed out at 0602MST) U.S. & State Flags at state facilities across AZ to half-staff until sunset, on Fri., Jan. 24, in n honor of the life and years of service of First Officer Paul Hudson, a resident of Buckeye, AZ, who died in a C-130 crash while battling fires in Australia. All Flags across NEW JERSEY (NJ: on Jan. 24): NJ's Governor ordered (emailed out at 0907EST) U.S. & State Flags at state facilities across NJ to half-staff, from sunrise to sunset, on Fri., Jan. 24, in recognition and mourning of a dedicated and tireless public servant State Senator C. All Flags across VIRGINIA (VA: on Jan. 24): Virginia's Governor ordered all (U.S. & State) Flags at state facilities across Virginia to half-staff, from sunrise to sunset, on Fri., Jan. 24, in respect and memory of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Ian P. McLaughlin, of Newport News, Virginia., who was killed in action (KIA) in Afghanistan on Jan. 11. GO HERE to read the Flag order.

All Flags atop State Capitol and across Cameron and adjoining counties in TEXAS (TX: until Jan. 25): Texas' Governor ordered all (U.S. & State) Flags atop the State Capitol to half-staff, from sunrise to sunset, on Sat., Jan. 25, the date of his interment and across Cameron and neighboring counties to half-staff until sunset, on Sat., Jan. 25, to honor U.S. Army Specialist Miguel A. All Flags atop State Capitol in Sacramento, CALIFORNIA (CA: until Jan. 24): California's Governor ordered all (U.S. & State) Flags atop the State Capitol to half-staff, assumedly until sunset on Fri., Jan. 24, to honor Los Angeles County Sheriff's Detective Amber Leist, who was killed in the line of duty on Jan. 12. All Flags across HAWAII (HI: until Jan. 24): Hawaii's Governor ordered all (U.S. & State) Flags at state facilities across Hawaii to half-staff immediately on Mon., Jan. 20, until sunset on Fri., Jan. 24, to honor Honolulu Police Department officers Tiffany Enriquez and Kaulike Kalama who were shot and killed in the line of duty on Jan. 19.. All Flags in Torrance, California (CA: Jan. 24): City of Torrance Mayor, assumedly with authority and approval of the CA Governor, ordered all Flags at Torrance City buildings to half-staff until sunset on Fri., Jan. 24, in honor of former Mayor Ken Miller, who served from 1970-78. City Flag in Lewisville, TEXAS (TX: until Jan. 24): Lewisville's Mayor ordered the CITY Flag (the City flag only) at government buildings to half-staff until sunset on Fri., Jan. 24, the date of his interment, in memory of former Fire Chief Tim Titttle, who died Jan. 20th, after a long battle with cancer. Today's #NeverForgottenFriday Commemoration
Thankfully, there were no military personnel killed in Global War on Terror (GWOT) combat zones this past week.
... But, back on the homefront ...

Unfortunately, ... there were 5 first responder honorees who died in the line of duty this past week. The 2 fallen police officers were Officer Enriquez and Officer Kalama of the Honolulu Police Department (shot & killed).
And, the 3 fallen firefighters were Fire Marshall Smith in Orange, Connecticut (car crash), Chief Tittle of Lewisville Fire Department in Texas (cancer), and Firefighter Cash of the Roswell Fire Department in Georgia (medical emergency).
We honor and thank these patriots for serving and protecting their communities.
