Eighteen years ago this week, on October 19, 2001, one of the first US military units to invade Afghanistan was the 5th Special Forces Group Operational Detachment Alpha 595 - led by US Army Captain Mark Nutsch.  Much to their surprise they were given horses instead of vehicles to support their mission.  The liberating feats of these 12 Special Forces combatants were honored in last year's Hollywood film, "12 Strong."  To learn firsthand about this strange and challenging yet successful mission and the bourbon distillery inspired by it ...
