Guess how many US Flags, out of the 42 I passed by last Sunday, October 6th, were at half-staff per the National Half-Staff order for National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service?

Yes, that's right, only 3 out 42 US Flags were at half-staff.this past Sunday, Oct. 6, for the annual National Fallen Firefighter Memorial Service. Unfortunately, even 2 fire stations in Boulder, CO, were not at half-staff to honor their fellow fallen firefighters. Others in the Denver-Boulder area that didn't have their flag at half-staff included Denver Tech Center's iconic flag display (see pic below), the largest US Flag in the area of I-25 east of downtown Denver, churches, McDonald's, Chick-fil-A, the NOAA government center, and others. These 39 that did not have their US Flag at half-staff must not have received a message about the national half-staff or use an app or other way to keep up with proper flag protocol. Granted, this is the newest of the 5 annual, U.S. Congress-enacted and President-ordered, national half-staff days, but there's no excuse with today's technology and means of communication to not know. If a government building or business or school or church or anyone flies a U.S. Flag they should care and take responsibility for it and be a 'good Flag Steward.'
So, how can we, as the current mass of about 30,000 monthly unique visiting Flag Stewards using this service, help our fellow citizens to care about Our Flag and show proper respect someone is being commemorated for their service to the nation, state, and/or local communities?
Besides more installation of the Flag Steward app, which most don't use on a regular basis or subscribe to notifications, are there other ways, we as Flag Stewards, can boost awareness of checking the flag status daily and ensuring proper care for Our Flag and all the informative and inspirational stories woven into it fabric?
Please, email your suggestions to Staff@FlagSteward.org ... and no idea is too crazy, because I have one coming out soon ;)
Thanks for your assistance.
