U.S. Army Sergeant Troy David Jenkins
(originally enlisted at age 17 and served as a U.S. Marine)

Died of combat wounds on April 24, 2003 while serving as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom
Sgt. Jenkins, age 25, of Ridgecrest, California was assigned to B Company, 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment based in Fort Campbell, KY.
He received mortal wounds from an explosion while on a dismounted patrol with other soldiers in Iraq on April 19th.  He died from his injuries at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany.

Jenkins inspires us:
His wife, Amanda Jenkins, said the circumstances of his death were not surprising.
“He didn’t have a selfish bone in his body. He was always thinking of other people first.”
