#BracketCharityPledge
Pledging a Donation to Charities Associated with my 4 Final Picks
#BracketCharityPledge
It's a simple 4-step process:
1) Fill-in your bracket
2) Select your top 4 charities and write them next to your bracket's 4 Final picks.
3) Proclaim your #BracketCharityPledge on social media, however you want, so we can track how much charities should receive at the end of the tourney.
[Note: You can fill-in and/or print this form to show-off if you want]
4) Make a donation to each charity that is matched with your surviving 4 Final picks.
[Note: We recommend you make your donation in the amount that is a fraction of what you paid into the pool. For example, if 2 of your 4 final picks are alive and you paid $20 to participate in the pool, then make a donation of $5 to each associated charity matched with your surviving 4 final teams. This is all done on an 'honor system' - meaning, we trust you'll do what you pledge.]
So, what does the GivingVue nonprofit and its projects get out of the #BracketCharityPledge? GivingVue will get nothing, unless you list GivingVue or FlagSteward or FaithVue alongside one of your 4 Final picks.
How did this happen?
March 15, 2018:
This morning on the radio it was said that approximately $10.2 billion are paid into tourney bracket pools.
Then, while on a lunchtime run, I thought, "Wow! Folks are willing to squander / give away $5 to $20 to $100 and more for a small chance of winning their group's bracket prize." And, admittedly, I am one of them. :) So, then I thought, "What if the equivalent of just 10% of all those dollars pooled were matched with a pledge to a charity? That would equate to bracket participants giving just over $1 billion to charities." And, of course that led me to ponder, because our nonprofit, GivingVue, is on a mission to enable digital apps and services that increase the GIVING ACTS of Education (Flag Steward project) and Faith (FaithVue app), and Charity. "How could GivingVue provide a method for bracket participants to enact this?"
Well, here's our attempt - as seen at top of page ;)
