On this date, September 27th of 1930, Bobby Jones, an amateur golfer, amazingly completed the Grand Slam of golf. Back then, that meant he won the United States and British amateur titles as well as the US and British Open pro titles - all in one year, 1930. Bobby Jones was a lawyer full-time and golfer part-time, yet during his short career, in which he retired from playing golf at 28, he won 13 of the 31 majors he played in and finished in the top ten of those major tournaments an amazing 27 times.

During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. When not in uniform men should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart.
