​On this date, July 16, in 1941, New York Yankee sensation, Joe DiMaggio got a hit for the 56th game in-a-row.  If you're not a fan of baseball, this may not seem like a big deal.  But, Harvard professor minds said this about this feat, "the most extraordinary thing that ever happened in American sports."   ,Since setting the record of 56 games with at least one hit, only the epic hitter, 'Charlie Hustle,' Pete Rose came close with a 44-game hit streak in 1978.
