Today's Historical Moment from Our Flag
... reminds of one of the greatest comedy skits of all time - about "America's favorite pastime" ...

In the summer of 1945, as momentum was building for the end of WWII in the Pacific, a comedy film called, "The Naughty Nineties," was released starring the dynamic comedy duo of Abbott & Costello (Bud Abbott & Lou Costello - pictured on left and right respectively above).  The film contained the longest, and perhaps funniest version, of their "Who's on First?" routine.
In 1999, Time Magazine called this the Best Comedy Sketch of the 20th Century.  It now plays continuously in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.

Today's Insightful and Funny Quote from Our Flag
... is about summertime fun and frustrations with baseball and golf ...

"It took me seventeen years to get three thousand hits in baseball.
I did it in one afternoon on the golf course."

- Hank Aaron

And, now it's time to ...
Recite the Pledge of Allegiance
Students across America, at school or at home, inspired by America's sense of humor and ability to laugh at ourselves, please unite and recite the Pledge.
