How did WI get its name?:
Like many other states, Wisconsin originated from Native Americans. Their word for the Wisconsin River was adopted by French and English explorers as a name for the region - changing from Ouisconsin to Wisconsin.

One of the most sought after fish in Wisconsin is the muskie. To catch a 33-inch muskie (Muskellunge - the largest of the Pike fish species), it averages 100 hours of fishing.
The Fox River is one of the few rivers in USA that flows north
