National Anthem Day
Before we get to celebrating Florida's statehood, we must recall that today is also 'National Anthem Day.' On this date, March 3rd, in 1931, President Herbert Hoover signed the congressional law establishing "The Star-Spangled Banner," written by Sir Francis Scott Key, as our National Anthem. Next year we will highlight the Anthem more because this year our interactive calendar is focused on recognizing all 50 states' birthdays. ;)
