Today's Historical Moment from Our Flag

... happened 5 years after women fought for and finally got the right to vote ...
On this date, January 5, in 1925, Wyoming, the "Cowboy State," was the first state in the United States to swear-in a female governor - Nellie Tayloe Ross. She did not campaign, but won a special election after her husband, who served as Wyoming's 12th Governor, died unexpectedly while in office. Mrs. Nellie Ross served as Wyoming's 14th Governor from 1925 to 1927 and is still the only female to be its governor. She pushed for laws to stop child labor and improve working conditions for women and mining workers. Starting in 1933, Mrs. Nellie Ross was appointed by President Roosevelt as the Director of the U.S Mint - a job she held for 20 years.
Today's Inspirational Quote from Our Flag
"... how fitting it is that the 'Equality State'
be the first to elect a woman governor."
- stated U.S. Senator from Wyoming, John B. Kendrick

Today's Fun from Our Flag
... a timely joke ;) ...
I'm so tired of hearing the governor's ever-changing COVID-19 rules and restrictions.
Like this new one, ...
... I just heard that the Governor is now requiring us to wear underwear over our pants when we're out in public.
How weird is that?! ;)
