All Flags across SOUTH CAROLINA (SC: on Dec. 20): South Carolina Governor ordered all Flags at state facilities across South Carolina to half-staff, from sunrise to sunset, on Fri., Dec. 20, in honor of Deputy Michael Latu of the Marion County Sheriff's Office, who died in the line of duty. Today's #NeverForgottenFriday Commemoration
Thankfully, there were no U.S. military personnel killed in Global War on Terror (GWOT) combat zones this past week.
... And, back on the homefront ...

Sadly, ... there were 5 first responder honorees who died recently. The 4 fallen police officers were PFC Latu of the Marion County Sheriff's Officer in South Carolina (single car crash), Chief Deputy Jacobs of the Knott County Sheriff's Office in Kentucky (heart attack), First Assistant Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department, Chief Earl Paysinger, and Sergeant Oglesby of the Naval Service Washingto DC Police Department in Maryland (single car crash). .
And, the fallen firefighter was former Assistant Chief of Operations for the South Metro District Fire Rescue, Chief Troy Jackson, in Colorado (job-related cancer).
We honor and thank these patriots for serving and protecting their communities.
