Flag Steward Happenings this past week
... special Veterans Day ceremony officially kicked-off iHonor Flag project ...
Flag Steward's second Flag education program (the first being our Pre-Pledge Tribute program for elementary schools) officially launched with a stirring iHonor Flag presentation at Pine Creek HS this past Monday, Veterans Day 2019.  The iHonor Flag program, dubbed by me ;) as America's Most Patriotic STEM project, is now available to high school classes and students to enable as a group and/or individual project.
It took more than a year of building, testing, and distributing 100+ iHonor Flags on my own to figure out how to empower students to now program and deliver hand-inscribed, digital storytelling iHonor Flags to the more than 7000 high school alma maters of our GWOT (Global War on Terror) Fallen.  And, yes, that's the goal of this program. As crazy as some call me, the goal is for students to deliver an iHonor Flag to each and every one of the more than 7,000 GWOT Fallen's high school alma maters by 2024.
In addition to the iHonor Flag presntation that Pine Creek HS AFJROTC student Genevieve Pace made, she researched and helped program the innovative digital tribute / story that goes with the Flag so that students at Pine Creek HS may connect, via the Flag Steward app or QR code posted next to the Flag being displayed in the school library, to learn the inspirational story of one of their own - Pine Creek HS Class of 2000, USAF Capt Ryan Hall.

I'd like to thank the students of Air Academy HS in Colorado Springs for having the courage to help me kick-off this program.
And, if you KNOW ANY STUDENTS or TEACHERS that would like to participate / make and present an iHonor Flag, please GO HERE to pass along their info.
PS - And, no you don't have to be in JROTC or be a computer-savvy student to participate.  If this 50-year old Marine Jarhead with no coding skills can do this, then I know students can do even better ;)

Thanks for reviewing today's 'Reminders for Our Flag'
