"In God We Trust" Recollections
"In God We Trust" first appeared on American coins in 1864 during the Civil War, but not until 1957 did it appear on paper currency. That's because in 1957, President Eisenhower signed in to law that "In God We Trust" must appear on all American currency (money). It also established "In God We Trust" as the official motto of the United States.
So, on this Sunday, we thank God, Country, and Family for all the fruits of freedom we enjoy each day.
