On this date, October 1, in 1890, thanks to the strong lobbying of Congress by John Muir, the Yosemite National Park was established by an act of Congress.
Some of you may know or have seen some pictures and comments about Yosemite in the past ... But, for our new Flag Stewards, and we've had lots start using this service within the past year (more than 75,000) ... Yosemite is my favorite National Park and in the top 3 of our favorite places for family vacation. So, you're welcome to see some pics in the slideshow below that I've taken during the 10+ week-long family vacations to Yosemite (almost always during Memorial Week) ... And, if you ever want vacationing in Yosemite advice (which you gotta book early to get a campground), email me at [email protected]
