Upcoming Half-Staff Alerts
NONE
[ Note: Flag Steward proves it is the most accurate and complete listing of half-staff (National, State, & Local) again:  Flags Express, Flag Notify, Colonial Flag app, and Legacy are all missing the LOUISIANA Governor state ordered half-staff today - plus they are all missing the local half-staffs that only Flag Steward takes time to relay and make sure local folks know why their Flags are half-staff. ]
Happy #FlagDayFriday!

Thankfully, there were no soldiers killed while serving in a Global War on Terror (GWOT) combat zone last week.  Unfortunately, there was a UH-60, Black Hawk, helicopter crash today (Thu., 9/26) at Fort Polk, Louisiana, in which one, yet to be named, soldier was killed and 3 were injured.
[ Note: The military waits at least 24 hours to ensure family members of the fallen are notified before releasing the name to the public.]

But, back on the homefront ...

Sadly, there were, reported last week, 6 first responders who died in the line of duty.  The 3 peace officers were Captain Vincent Liberto Jr., Chief of the Mandeville PD in Louisiana, Deputy Chris Hulsey of Meade County in Kentucky, and Captain Dan Sullivan, Chief of the Clovis PD in California.  And the 3 firefighters were Kunkle FD Firefighter Ed Nulton, Captain Claud Messer, Chief of the Jonathan Creek Fire & Rescue in North Carolina, and Houston Firefighter Kenneth Stavinoha in Texas.

Please, pray for all of these fallen patriots and their family and friends in mourning.
