Today's #NeverForgottenFriday Commemoration
Since we've postponed our weekly Pre-Pledge Tributes during schools' summer break; and subsequently the 'Fallen Patriots to Honor' section of those tributes ... We plan to commemorate them on Fridays this summer.

Unfortunately, there were 2 Global War on Terror (GWOT) Fallen this week.  U.S. Army Specialist Michael Nance, 24, of Chicago, Illinois, and Private First Class Brandon Kreischer, 20, of Stryker, Ohio, were killed in action (KIA) on Monday, July 29th.  Nance and Kreischer were part of Company B., 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, of the 82nd Airborne Division from Ft. Bragg, NC.  They were killed by small arms fire in Tarin Kowt, Uruzgan Province.  CLICK HERE to learn more about this.

And, back on the homefront ...

... unfortunately, one peace officer and one firefighter died in the line of duty recently.
In Los Angeles, CA, Police Officer Juan Diaz was shot and killed while responding to vandalism.  Also, in California, CAL FIRE / San Diego County Firefighter Yaroslav Katkov died of a medical issue during training.

Please, pray for all of these fallen patriots and their family and friends in mourning.

Fellow Flag Stewards,
My family and I will be away on vacation from Wed., July 31, to Sat., August 3, visiting my in-laws in St. Louis, MO.  During this time, I will have connectivity, but I'm going to minimize the daily content posted.  If you're interested in helping (volunteering for) our nonprofit to post informative and inspiring daily stories from Our Flag, please fill-in the form below.  Volunteer site editors and social media marketers would be a big boost.  Our operation is currently a one-man show building and maintaining the Flag Steward app and website for a measured 25,000+ monthly unique users - as of this past month.  Thanks for your consideration.
-Sean Sweeney, Chief Flag Steward

Fill-in this form if you're interested in volunteering as a Flag Steward:
       1) Part-time site/app editor
    and/or
       2) Part-time social media marketer

*We're not looking for experts.  We just want patriotic, passionate Stewards and story-tellers for Our Flag.  If a 50-year old Jarhead Marine with little to no coding know-how can build & maintain this service, I'm sure you can do better ;)

Write in position interested in: 1) or 2) or Both, then leave whatever comments / qualifications you'd like to mention
Submit
Note:  Your submission / information will not be added to an email blast list.  Your contact info will only, strictly be used for contacting you about this specific Flag Steward opportunity.
Thanks for reviewing today's 'Reminders for Our Flag'
- a service from the Flag Steward program
