Women to Honor Wednesday's - Moment to Remember
Picture
During this week, on July 19th and 20th of 1848, to be exact, the first women's rights convention, the "Seneca Falls Convention", was held in New York.  The three leaders of this first-ever public push for women's rights was Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, and Carrie Chapman Catt.  They set-up this historic meeting to discuss social, civil, and religious conditions and the rights of women.  This event began, what turned out to be a long, difficult 72-year push to get the women's right to vote. On August 18, 1920, the 20th Amendment, empowering women to vote, was finally adopted.
