In Texas, all Flags on State Capitol and across Freestone County are half-staff (order this afternoon)
And, Benton County in WA has a local half-staff that ends at sunset today.

Fallen Soldier alert:
On Saturday, July 13, 2019, Sergeant Major James G. Sartor, 40, of Teague, Texas, was KIA in Faryab Province, Afghanistan. He died as a result of injuries sustained from enemy small arms fire during combat operations. Sartor was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Carson, Colorado.
So, we'll keep a lookout for a Flag Order from the Texas Governor soon.

Today's Moment to Remember
On this date, July 15, in 1806, US Army Lieutenant Zebulon Pike departed from Missouri to explore the west. His adventures earned him the honor of having one of American's most famous peaks named after him - Pikes Peak. It stands at more than 14,000 feet, overlooking Colorado Springs, Colorado. Pikes Peak inspired Katharine Lee Bates to write "America the Beautiful" in July of 1893. She specifically refers to Pikes Peak in the first stanza by stating "purple mountain majesties."

As you might expect, Flag Stewards seem to have a number of different favorite 'french fries' places. But the top ones are aligned with what most of the country thinks... Chick-fil-A and McD's have the best ones.
