"And then ultimately what I tell the kids is: coaches can give you information, ... guidelines, and ... put you in a position. But the only person who can truly make you better is you."

Today's Moment to Remember
On this date, July 10, in 1890, Wyoming became part of the Union as our 44th state. Wyoming is the 10th largest state by area, but ranked lowest (50th) for population.
So, that makes it a great state for those that want to get away and find peaceful quiet in Wyoming's mountains, high plains, and range lands.
Well, except when you visit its two well-known National Parks - Yellowstone and Grand Tetons, especially in summer when you may run into car traffic gridlock because a herd of buffalo won't move off the road. ;)

Today's Slice of Americana ... a ode to 'Women to Honor Wednesday'
OTD, July 10, in 1999, the US Women's Soccer team won the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup. Before a record-setting crowd of 90,185 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA, they beat China in a penalty shoot-out. Brandi Chastain, shown below in picture and video, became famous more for her shirt-removal celebration than for the winning penalty kick she made ;) It was a pure moment of joy and liberation for her and the team and now is an iconic photo for women's continuous fight for equality.
