It's fitting that the header picture for today's (every Thursday's) Flag Steward page is the view from one of my favorite spots to pray - Daniel's Park overlooking the Sanctuary Golf Course with Pike's Peak (the source of 'purple mountain majesties') in the distance.
Public Law 100-307, signed by President Reagan, designated of the first Thursday in May as the annual observance for the National Day of Prayer. And, 10 years later, President Clinton signed Public Law 105-225 establishing that the President shall issue each year a proclamation designating the first Thursday in May as a National Day of Prayer on which the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at churches, in groups, and as individuals.
So, utilize your First Amendment, freedom of religion rights, to participate in the National Day of Prayer however it best works for you.
