Today's Moment to Remember
-I was born on this date, April 13, of 1743 in Virginia - the 3rd of 10 children in my family
- I was the 2nd Vice President of the United States because I came in 2nd place in that Presidential election [Note: That was the rule back then - opposing candidates, who finished 1st & 2nd in the election, had to work together as President & VP]
-During the Second Continental Congress, I worked with the "Committee of Five" (John Adams, Ben Franklin, Roger Sherman, Robert Livingston, and I) and became the main author of the Declaration of Independence

You might recognize my famous home - Monticello, which I, a Founding Father, designed myself.
Do you know who I am yet?
Here's one last hint:
-Strangely, I died on July 4, 1826, exactly 50 years after the Declaration of Independence was approved by Congress
Yes, I'm Thomas Jefferson
- one of America's Founding Fathers and 3rd U.S. President

THANK YOU, SO MUCH!
A significant number of fellow Flag Stewards filled-in the survey I posted last Saturday and Monday. I will post the results soon and am already acting upon the feedback received. In particular, there was one, 'Duh - why didn't I think of that or do that earlier' recommendation in the survey that I want to attack right away.
a fellow Flag Steward's recommendation: "I would like to possibly get some business sized cards (maybe 10 or so) with each IAF I buy (or maybe an option to buy some on the site), so I can hand them out to friends with flag poles and also some businesses that are not displaying their flags properly (not in spite, but for their knowledge). One of these places is a Military Armory that I pass each day going to/from work."
So, rather than wait until some of you purchase a US Flag from Flag Steward, please, fill-in your name and address below and I will send you a FREE stack of Flag Steward Half-Staff Alert promo cards. If you're willing to help our communities do a better job honoring our fallen, than I'm willing to pay for the printing and postage to empower you.
Give them to businesses, schools, government sites, and homes that are not aware of national, state, or local half-staff orders to honor our fallen.
Thanks again for letting me and helping me (via this Flag Steward nonprofit project) serve you and your communities better - building better (more informed, inspired, patriotic) citizens - especially our youth.
