Half-Staff Alerts for April 11
The US & State Flags across NEW YORK (all state facilities) are at half-staff, as well as, Pennsylvania and Delaware added this afternoon.
The STATE FLAG of Maryland is half-staff across the State for 2 honorees.
And, locally the US & State Flags are half-staff at 3 places:
California State Capitol Building // Westfield, NJ // Evesham Township, NJ

The 3 service members killed by vehicle-borne IED (improvised explosive device), outside of Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan on Monday, have been identified as Corporal Robert A. Hendriks, 25, of Locust Valley, NY; Sergeant Benjamin S. Hines, 31, of York, PA; and Staff Sergeant Christopher K.A. Slutman, 43, of Newark, DE ]

[ President Lyndon B. Johnson signing the Civil Rights Act of 1964 with Martin Luther King Jr. by his side. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for the Civil Rights Act of 1968. ]
On this date, April 11, in 1968, and one week after Martin Luther King Jr's was assassinated, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1968. This law added more protection for civil rights workers, improved the rights of Native Americans, and prohibited housing discrimination.
