Today's Flag Status
Across the USA and its Territories, the US Flag flies at HALF-STAFF to honor the life and service of our 41st US President, George H. W. Bush, and will remain so until sunset on December 30th.  And, there is an additional concurrent half-staff honoree in PA.

In PENNSYLVANIA, while the US Flag remains at half-staff until Dec. 30th to honor President George H W Bush, the Governor has ordered the PA State / Commonwealth Flags to half-staff to honor Scott Dannheimer, 53, of Shamokin, a Captain of the East End Fire Company in Coal Township and it will remain at half-staff until the day of his interment on Thursday, Dec. 27th.

Today's Moment to Remember
... First-manned orbit of the Moon ...

On this date, Dec. 27th of 1968, Apollo 8 splashed back to Earth.  The 6-day mission to the Moon and back, which included 10 orbits, was manned by 3 astronauts - Frank Borman, James Lovell, and William Anders.  They piloted the first manned-spaceship to orbit the Moon.
