Across the USA, Our American Flag flies at full staff, except in NC.

In NORTH CAROLINA, US and State Flags are half-staff from sunrise Thu, Oct 18, until sunset on Sun, Oct 21 to honor North Carolina State Highway Patrol Trooper Kevin Conner who was shot and killed in the line of duty in Columbus County on Wednesday.

Thankfully, there were no military service members killed in the line of duty in the Global War on Terror (GWOT) this past week. 
But, there was a special burial at Arlington yesterday of previously MIA Vietnam War heroes that we'd like to highlight.

US Army Staff Sergeant Marshall Kipina, a forward observer (pictured above left), and Lieutenant Colonel Robert Nopp, a pilot (pictured above right), went missing on July 13, 1966 during a night recon mission over Laos.  Their crash site was identified in the 1990s and their remains identified earlier this year.  They were buried will full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery, yesterday, October 18th.
