This Week's #NeverForgottenFriday Honoree
Sadly, yesterday, there was one soldier killed in the line of duty in the Global War on Terror (GWOT) in Afghanistan. The service member's name will not be released until at least 24 hours have passed and the fallen service member's family is notified in person. So, we will provide a full tribute for this fallen soldier next Friday.
On another honorable note...
There is a legendary Holocaust survivor, who enlisted, became a Green Beret, and rose to the rank of Major General, who passed away last Friday at the age of 83 - US Army (Retired) Major General Shachnow. During his 40-year Army career (1955 to 1994), he served 2 tours in Vietnam with the Special Forces and commanded the JFK Special Warfare Center and School, the US Army Special Forces Command, and the US Army - Berlin.
