For his heroic actions in the Shok Valley of Afghanistan on April 6, 2008, former Special Forces soldier and medic, Ronald J. Shurer II will receive the Medal of Honor at a White House ceremony next Monday, October 1st. While assigned to Special Operations Task Force 33, during Operation Enduring Freedom, fought his way up a mountain to provide life-saving first aid to his teammates.
