Women to Honor Wednesday
During this week in U.S. history, on July 19th and 20th of 1848, the first women's rights convention, the Seneca Falls Convention, was held in New York. The three leaders of this first-ever public push for women's rights was Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, and Carrie Chapman Catt. They set-up this historic meeting to discuss social, civil, and religious conditions and rights of women. The event began, what turned out to be a long, arduous 70-year push for women's right to vote. On August 18, 1920, the 20th Amendment, empowering women to vote, was adopted.

Sadly, we did have 1 law enforcement officer who was killed in the line of duty recently -
Police Officer Michael Chesna, a military Veteran and 6-year member of the Weymouth Police Department. He was assaulted and then shot by an assailant using the officer's weapon. Please, pray for Chesna's wife, 2 kids, and friends in mourning.
