In Iowa, the U.S. and state flags fly from sunrise on Thursday, July 12, 2018, to sunset on Friday, July 13, 2018, in honor and remembrance of former Iowa Governor Robert D. Ray. He passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018, at the age of 89.
In Maryland, the US and State flags are lowered to half-staff until sunset, Saturday, July 14, 2018. This action is in honor of Lieutenant Milton Roach of Spring Grove Hospital Center Police Department, who died in the line of duty on Wednesday, July 4, 2018
