Today's Star-Spangled Inspiration
... is a quote from John Muir about Yosemite
"It is easier to feel than to realize, or in any way explain, Yosemite grandeur. The magnitudes of the rocks and trees and streams are so delicately harmonized, they are mostly hidden."

THIS WEEK'S FALLEN MILITARY SERVICE MEMBERS
Thankfully, there are no new fallen combatants to report this week from the Global War on Terror.
But, we do have a special fallen WWII combatants' burial to highlight and honor.
This combination of undated photos released Thursday, June 21, 2018, by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency shows five U.S. Army Air Forces airmen, members of a B-17 bomber crew, who were shot down in 1944 during a mission over Germany in World War II. Their bodies were recovered in 2015 and 2016. They are, top row from left: Tech. Sgt. John F. Brady, of Taunton, Mass., Tech. Sgt. Allen A. Chandler, Jr., of Fletcher, Okla., and 1st Lt. John H. Liekhus, of Anaheim, Calif.; bottom row, from left: Staff Sgt. Robert O. Shoemaker, of Tacoma Park, Md., and Staff Sgt. Bobby J. Younger, of McKinney, Texas. Their remains were buried as a group on June 27 at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

TODAY'S HISTORICAL REMINDER:
< America the Beautiful >
< America the Beautiful >
During this week, in 1864, on June 30, 1864 to be exact, President Lincoln signed the Yosemite Land Grant, the first legislation / law made to protect California's awestruck Yosemite Valley. This act was the first time government took action to set aside land for preservation and pubic use. It was the first step toward creating our first National Park, Yellowstone, in 1872.
