Today's Flag Status
Our Flag flies at full staff across the USA, except in Alaska.
Our Flag flies at full staff across the USA, except in Alaska.
In Alaska, the U.S. and State Flag are lowered to half-staff until sunset today in honor of Alaskan Avrum M. Gross. Av Gross was Alaska's Attorney General from 1974 - 1989, under Governor Jay Hammond. He steered Alaska's Department of Law during some of state's most significant watershed moments. During his tenure, the Trans-Alaska pipeline was completed, and carried its first barrels of oil south. With it came Alaska's Permanent Fund and a brand new vision about what Alaska's future could be like.
