Flag Steward - Honors and Awakens Our Flag to Inform and Inspire Citizens
Today is "Patriots' Day" - a state holiday in 4 states, MA, CT, ME, and WI, to celebrate the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the first battles of the American Revolutionary War, on April 19th, 1775. The colonial fighters, nicknamed "Minutemen," that day defeated the Brits at both battles. Famous Patriots involved in the battles north of Boston, Massachusetts included John Hancock, Samuel Adams, and Paul Revere.
The world famous Boston Marathon is the centerpiece of the biggest Patriots' Day celebration- and has been since the very first running on April 19, 1897.
