Governor executive orders for lowering the U.S. and State Flags in their state:
In Wisconsin, the Governor of Wisconsin has ordered flags to fly at half-staff, Saturday, April 7, 2018, in honor of former Wisconsin Attorney General Bronson La Follette. In accordance with the order, please ensure that the flag of the United States and the flag of the State of Wisconsin are flown at half-staff at all state facilities beginning at sunrise on Saturday, April 7, 2018, and ending at sunset on that same date.
In Hawaii, Governor David Ige has ordered that the United States flag and the Hawai'i state flag will be flown at half-staff as a mark of respect for the memory of Sen. Daniel K. Akaka. Flags shall be flown at half-staff immediately, at the State Capitol and upon all state offices and agencies as well as the Hawai'i National Guard in the State of Hawai'i, until sunset on the day of Sen. Akaka's interment."Our beloved Sen. Akaka lived a life of service and aloha, and each of us in Hawai?i has benefited in countless ways. Our state mourns the loss of this man of upright character. While we celebrate his military service and dedication to our nation's veterans, his advocacy of the Hawaiian language and culture, and his work in Congress to recognize Filipino veterans, he was first and foremost a family man. Dawn and I send our condolences to Auntie Millie and the entire Akaka ?Ohana. A hui hou, Sen. Akaka," said Gov. Ige.

THIS WEEK'S FALLEN MILITARY SERVICE MEMBER
sourced through:
During the week of March 25-31, unfortunately, there was 1 new fallen military service member, who was fighting in the Global War on Terrorism.
U.S. Army Master Sergeant. Jonathan Dunbar, a 36 year-old Special Forces solider of Austin, Texas, was killed by an IED that detonated near his patrol in Syria.
We thank and pay tribute to Master Sergeant Dunbar, who leaves behind a wife and 2 daughters, for defending our freedoms and fighting to liberate others.

[Sadly, next Friday, we'll feature several fallen military service members, USMC and USAF, from training exercise aircraft crashes.]
