Reminders from Our Flag
for Tuesday, March 27, 2018
[We recommend you designate each Friday as #FlagDayFriday - a day to take a moment and be thankful for all America offers by performing a pre-Pledge Tribute.  But, if #FlagDayFriday doesn't fit within your morning schedule, you're welcome to GO HERE to perform this week's Pre-Pledge Ceremony on any day of the week.]

Today's Flag Status:
Across the USA, Our Flag flies at full staff, except in Georgia and Missouri.

Our Flags (US and State) are ordered to fly at half-staff in Missouri from sunrise to sunset on March 27, 2018 as a mark of respect for FBI Special Agent Melissa S. Morrow who died in the line of duty.
In Georgia, the U.S. and State Flags will fly at half-staff until sunset on March 29th to honor former Governor and U.S. Senator Zell Miller.  He was a US Marine veteran who became Georgia's Governor and U.S. Senator.

[*Note: In Missouri, all flags at all State and government offices will be flown at half-staff, in the County of St. Louis from sunrise on March 22 until sunset on March 30, 2018, to commemorate the life of Cloria Brown, a Missouri state legislature Representative, who died while in office.]
[**Note 2: Also, by order of the Missouri Governor, all flags at all State and government offices will be flown at half-staff, in the counties of Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte, Audrain, Boone and Cole from sunrise on March 27 until sunset on March 30, 2018 to honor FBI Special Agent Melissa Morrow where she conducted most of her work.]

-My inaugural commemoration will be this Thursday, March 29, 2018 and many Veterans across the USA will be honored at local ceremonies.

-The Veterans celebrated on this day are associated with 'The Wall' and this statue pictured below.

Do you know who I am yet?
Here's one last hint:
-The Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017 designated every March 29th as the "National ________ War Veterans Day"

Yes, I'm called the National Vietnam War Veterans Day - officially and finally giving proper recognition 50 years after the climax of the war.

So, here's a one-line from Bob Hope - the Entertainer of the Century and a crowd favorite with all GIs...

'When I was born, the doctor said to my mother: 'Congratulations. You have an eight-pound ham.'
-Bob Hope
