On this 'Military Monday', we recall General MacArthur and the beginning of one of the greatest American comeback stories.  On March 11, 1942, General MacArthur, ready to fight to the death against the Japanese invading the Philippines, begrudgingly leaves the islands by order of President Roosevelt.  Upon his departure, General MacArthur stated these famous words to the people of the Philippines, "I shall return."
Two-and-a-half years later, on October 20, 1944, General MacArthur got his revenge as he waded ashore the Philippines.  He was there to lead his American forces to defeat the armies of Imperial Japan and free the Philippine people from Japanese rule.

And, today's quote providing #MondayMotivation ...
... recalls General MacArthur's famous speech to the Cadets at the US Military Academy (West Point) in 1962.

On Wednesday, March 14th, an F/A-18F crashed while on approach to the Navy's Key West Air Station.
The two crew members aboard were killed in the crash - Lieutenant Commander James Brice Johnson and Lieutenant Caleb Nathaniel King.  They were based out of Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia and flew with the “Blacklions” of Strike Fighter Squadron 213.  Johnson, the aircraft pilot, as a 2007 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy.  And, King, the back-seat weapons systems operator, was a 2012 U.S. Naval Academy graduate.
We honor and thank Johnson and King for defending our freedoms and fighting to liberate the lives of others.

Additionally, we're aware of another aircraft crash that occurred on Thursday evening in western Iraq.  A U.S. Air Force HH-60 Pave Hawk went down killing all 7 crew members aboard.
