For this #FlagDayFriday, we proclaim that across the USA, Our Flag flies at full staff, except in a portion of Maine and Missouri.

[Note 1: In Maine, Governor Paul R. LePage has directed United States and State of Maine flags to half-staff on Friday, March 16 ONLY in Caribou, Maine, in honor of Donald F. Collins, father of U.S. Senator Susan Collins and a fixture in Maine politics.  Governor LePage has also directed State of Maine flags to half-staff statewide on Friday, March 16. Other than in Caribou, U.S. flags statewide should remain at full staff.]
[Note 2:  In Missouri, by order of the Governor, all flags at all State and government offices will be flown at half-staff, in the County of St. Louis until sunset on March 9, 2018 to honor former State Representative Keith English.]

[ Sergeant First Class Maitland Wilson = Fb photo ]

Unfortunately, on Saturday, the DoD (Department of Defense) announced a new fallen soldier overseas.
Sergeant First Class Maitland Deweever Wilson, 38, of Brooklyn, NY, who was on assignment with the 831st Transportation Battalion died of a non-combat related injury in Landstuhl, Germany on March 7th.  SFC Wilson was a 17-Army veteran who had been supporting Operation Inherent Resolve - the battle against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

Now, let's take this opportunity to acknowledge, remember, and thank all those service members who are deployed overseas.
We appreciate them defending our freedoms and pray for their safe return home.

Today's 'Slice of Americana'
... Blasts off with invetor Robert H. Goddard
Goddard successfully launched the first liquid-fueled rocket on March 26, 1926 at Auburn, MA.

The rocket flew for about 2.5 seconds and over 184 feet.

Thanks for reviewing today's 'Reminders for Our Flag'
- a service from the Flag Steward program

Now go 'Be a good citizen' today by ...
