Flag Steward - Honors and Awakens Our Flag to Inform and Inspire Patriotic Citizens
On this 'Women to Honor Wednesday', during this 'Women's History Month,' we recognize the achievements of the ...
... National Women's History Project (NWHP) ...
Five women from California, Molly Murphy MacGregor, Mary Ruthsdotter, Maria Cuevas, Paula Hammett and Bette Morgan, set out in 1980 to bring more women's historical achievements to Americans. They started their effort, called the National Women's History Project, by attacking the top first - lobbying Congress to designate March as National Women's History Month. Their hard work paid off in 1987.
Since that time, NWHP has served as the leading provider of women's historical info to educators and community organizations.
