In Colorado, Gov. John Hickenlooper today ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, from sunrise until sunset to honor Douglas County Sheriff's Deputy Zackari Parrish as he is laid to rest. Parrish, 29, died in the line of duty on Dec. 31, 2017, of gunshot wounds sustained while responding to an incident in Highlands Ranch.

This #FlagDayFriday is also a #NeverForgottenFriday because during this past week of Global War on Terrorism (OIF/OEF) combat operations, primarily in Iraq and Afghanistan, there was one soldier killed in action (KIA).
