The Beacon of Honor - Awakens Our Flag ... to Inform and Inspire Patriotic Citizens ...
Today, we ask you to Think & Laugh.
Think:
OTD, we celebrate the birthday of one of our Founding Fathers - a little known, but very important one, John Jay.
The list of his notable accomplishments is long and noteworthy. First and foremost, John Jay was a Patriot.
He signed the Treaty of Paris of 1783, which officially ended the American Revolutionary War. John Jay was appointed by George Washington to be the first Chief Justice of the United States. He was also the second Governor of New York. In addition to all these impressive actions, John Jay had one event that may have topped them all.
Question: How did John Jay help ensure the U.S. Constitution was ratified by the states?
Answer: John Jay was one of three authors of the Federalist Papers. Along with Alexander Hamilton and James Madison, John Jay helped inform states delegates of the benefits of approving the U.S. Constitution.
Laugh:
(from Kids Jokes of the Day)
