On this date, November 13th, in 1956, the Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court finally affirmed that segregating public bus passengers (making passengers sit in different areas of the bus based on their skin color) was unconstitutional (against the law). The bus segregation problem began to be challenged by black riders in the spring of 1955 and then became a boycott by December of 1955 when Rosa Parks became famous for being arrested for not sitting in the "Colored" seats in the back of the bus.

Died November 11, 2017 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Lee Smith, 35, of the 101st Airborne Division, died at Camp Taji, Iraq, from non-combat injuries.
