Across the USA, Our Flag flies at full staff.  But, be prepared for the President to possibly proclaim a half-staff across the USA to honor the victims of last night's Las Vegas mass shooting.  In past years, the President has ordered half-staff for such ocassions.

On this date in 1967, Thurgood Marshall was sworn-in as a Supreme Court Justice - the first African-American to serve in our nation's highest court.  He was known for supporting civil rights and opposing discrimination and the death penalty.  He served until 1991.
